Children & Youth Curriculum
Pre K- Kindergarten: Chalice Children
A curriculum designed to help guide children's spiritual development through direct experience. They learn what it means to be a UU, about their religious community and explore their place within the community. ROOM 210
1st and 2nd Grade: UU Super Heroes: Bible People
A values-based curriculum, the goals of which are to for Unitarian Universalist . To introduce children to Biblical who have acted with courage and wisdom in their attempts to lead their lives fully and make the world a better place for others. This curriculum affirms the Judeo-Christian values that are in line with our Unitarian Principles and encourage children to lead their own lives fully and to use their own positive "super powers" as they interact with the world around them. 3rd and 4th Grade: Beginning UU
Exploring and developing pride in one's UU identity, this curriculum reinforces the 7 Principles of Unitarian Universalism. Children are enabled to claim their religious identity as well as learn about present and past Unitarians and Universalists. ROOM 212
5th and 6th Grade: Compass Points
Compass Points will lead its adolescent participants on a year long spiritual journey during which they will have opportunities to sort out their feelings about themselves and their world as they do the difficult work of starting to create their adult selves. They will also be asked to contemplate some of life's big questions - the nature of humanity and God, beliefs about death and faith. They are encouraged to think independently, assume responsibility, make decisions and explore their UU values. ROOM 308
7th and 8th Grade: Our Whole Lives
A comprehensive sexuality education curriculum, OWL goes beyond anatomy and health to insure that values, respect, emotions and justice are incorporated into the decision making skills of these youth. OWL promotes sexual and emotional health by fostering meaningful communication about issues concerning sex and sexuality as well as relationships. ROOM 304
Sr. High School: Paradigms Lost & Found
Youth discern the difficult theological and social myths from the facts of faith and reason that help cultivate their own unique world view. ROOM 100
