Religious Education

Thank you for joining our community in exploring the dynamics of faith and the depth of spirituality within a liberal religious community. As we come together to learn, serve, worship and grow in our understanding of being human and our place within this world, we invite you to participate in the various programs and events offered here at the UUCLV.

Our religious education programming seeks to provide a safe and nurturing environment within which to engage the free and responsible search for truth and meaning for all ages.

For the 2008-2009 year, the Religious Education Program for Children and Youth will emphasize cultural values and traditions of the Unitarian Universalist movement and world religions. Through art, music, movement, stories and discussion, each child is encouraged to explore moral questions, compassion, social outreach and community so as to bring integrity to their unique UU identity.

The Religious Education Program is designed to meet the spiritual needs for lifelong learning. As teachers and volunteers in our programming for Children and Youth, you are companion to the youngest of seekers on their faith development journey.

To enrich and engage your own personal journey, our Adult Programming explores various topics including theology, faith development and spiritual formation. As a community, our challenge is to empower each other to take responsibility for each individual's ethical and moral decisions as well as one's individual actions in order to create a better world.

I hope you will find our programming and community to be a resource for building a spiritual home for your individual faith exploration. Our Interim Minister, the RE Committee and myself are available to answer your questions, address your needs and listen to your concerns. Feel free to tell us your ideas as we are a community and program that are growing. I look forward to your participation in our programming here at The UUCLV.
