Adult Religious Education
To enrich and engage your own personal journey, our Adult Programming explores various topics, defined below, including theology, faith development and spiritual formation. As a community, our challenge is to empower each other to take responsibility for each individual's ethical and moral decisions as well as one's individual actions in order to create a better world.
THEOLOGY in its most narrow definition is the 'study of God.' Programs in theology encompass the study of religious texts within various religious traditions and doctrines concerning the understanding of God/dess, cosmology, salvation as well as critical analysis of ontology in relevance to ones relationship to a god, higher self, energy or power.
FAITH DEVELOPMENT is the journey and exploration of one's beliefs as they reflect one's moral understanding of power, human destiny and relationships in community with each other as well as to what they may determine as God and Nature. Faith Development entails the expression and conviction of beliefs that might be expressed through sacred rites of rituals.
SPIRITUAL FORMATION engages one in the process of transformation that comes from contemplative practices focusing on internal thought, life and nature. It may also entail the outward expression of spiritual practice that moves the inner most part of one's being in connection to the community, God or Nature as well as Beauty and Truth.
